- Basic Capitalization rules for proper nouns and pronouns
- Basic Capitalization rules for place names
- Basic Capitalization rules for first word of a sentence
- Overuse of capitalization
- If the student answered A, missing exclamation mark at end of sentence.
- If the student answered B, proper name is lower cased not capitalized.
- If the student answered C, the word “i” is missing capitalization.
- If the student answered D, wrong mark at end of sentence.
- If the student answered E, the student answered correctly.

Test Details- Subject: Language Arts
- Category: Punctuation
- Suggested Grade Level: 3 thru 8
This diagnostic test explores the following:
- Basic end of sentence punctuation
- Basic comma usage
- Basic abbreviation punctuation
- Day and month names and usage
- If the student answered A, the abbreviation is lower cased and should be capitalized.
- If the student answered B, no capitalization at beginning of sentence.
- If the student answered C, most pronouns do not require capitalization.
- If the student answered D, wrong mark at end of sentence.
- If the student answered E, the student answered correctly.
